Deep ruby with dense color through the middle and dark red edges.
This wine has a classic, beautiful entry with characteristic earthiness and smoke driven structure enveloped by fruit, with an undercurrent classic Petite Sirah meatiness.
It has a wonderful backbone of earth and dark fruit, with floral notes and an oak presence that frames the dense center of the wine. The finish is relatively long with lingering medium tannins spiced up by the meaty and smokey character that over lays the subdued pepper-corn(typically present in Petite Sirah).
This wine will age beautifully, becoming a classic over time.
“This Petite Sirah represents our crown jewel varietal.
I began making Petite Sirah when I arrived in Livermore Valley and have been astonished by the vibrancy of the varietal, when all indications are that the grape is clunky.
This vineyard is very small with medium yields, small berries and classic Petite Sirah structure. The vineyard has been organically farmed for 18 years.
The vineyard is maintained by myself and Ramiro Cortez. We touch every vine, this wine is our tribute to estate winemaking.
